Deli Making and Knish Tasting
So you've mastered the fine art of devouring a good corned beef and Rueben sandwich, but if your routine of stopping by the neighborhood spot has taken its toll on your pocket, sign up for this Geshmacke Adventure (that's Yiddish for "yum") and give yourself a lifetime meal plan with a Deli-making and knish-tasting class.
We'll meet at David’s East Side Deli, where we'll have exclusive use of the restaurant. After arriving, we'll settle in for a bit of instruction from David’s master chef before getting our hands on our own Beef, rye, and accoutrements to create a personalized Mama zetsa (Big boy), There will also be a platter of a variety of Deli roll, Kishke, and Gefilte to snack on.
After we've finished our lesson in food, it's time to learn about a REAL knish. Sit back and enjoy three different kinds of Knishes. Not only will we be taken on a tour of the nuances of this great food, we'll need the extra kick to calm our nerves as we watch our sandwiches compete in the Master Chef competition. Once the winner claims his or her championship sandwich, we'll receive one full glass of beer, or wine, and spend the rest of the evening chatting up our new culinary comrades. New friends, and new skills? Lechaim (Cheers) to that.
